Återigen hör vi om kraftiga bränder i Australein, eldstormar. Hemska saker men tyvärr inget nytt för Australien. Skogarna i Australien går ej att jämföra med skogarna i vårt land Sverige. De har ca 700 arter av eucalyptus träd vars bark innehåller en doftrik olja och dessa träd tappar bark varje år. När det då samlas mycket barkflagor på marken finns det förutsättningar för extra stora bränder. Naturen i Australien är anpassad till kraftiga bränder och för att leva på landsbygden bör människor regelbundet bränna marken i skogarna för att motverka dessa stora bränder men på många ställen är detta förebyggande arbete eftersatt.

  Again we hear of severe fires in Australein, firestorms. Scary stuff, but unfortunately nothing new for Australia. Forests in Australia can not be compared with the forests of our country, Sweden. They have about 700 species of eucalyptus trees whose cortex contains an oil that burns easily and these trees are losing cortex every year. With a lot of oily dry cortex flakes on the ground, the forrest is conditioned for extra large fires. The nature with it´s tress in Australia are adapted to severe fires and to live in rural areas, people should regularly burn the ground in the forests to counteract these large fires, but in many places this preventive action is neglected.
